The National Leader, New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP Engr.Rabiu Musa Kwankanso says financiers of detractors of the party are getting jittery and threatened by the party’s rising profile.
He said in a keynote address at the 8th National Executive Committee NEC meeting of the NNPP in Abuja l that with the growing socio political problems affecting the masses, the NNPP is emerging as the most viable opposition and credible alternative to the ruling party, the All Peoples Congress APC
The NNPP Chairman, Board of Trustees Engr. Buba Galadima had earlier in his contribution alleged that the powers that be in Abuja were behind the financing of activities of ‘renegade’ breakaway- faction of the party that purportedly set up a parallel Exco of the party at the national level and even removing Kwakwanso as the national leader.
According to Galadima, the ‘rabble rousing group was given N300 million from Abujat o stage their charade Lagos meeting during which uncoordinated and laughable pronouncements were made by a body not known to the highest Electoral Regulator in the land, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.
The NNPP National Leader noted that the party remains united and forward moving and would not be distracted in its focus of capturing power in the center come 2027, by the premeditated antics of expelled party members coming together under the guise of a parallel national exco of the party.
Kwakwanso charged the growing members of the NNPP to intensify on far reaching membership-drive as a means of actualizing the party’s vision of forming the government at the national states and local government levels in coming election
Kano state governor …. . in his contribution on the occasion attested to the managerial and other skills exhibited by Kwakwsnso in both his public and private service to the nation, which he noted woul serve him in good stead as President.
The Kano State governor, represented on the occasion by the Deputy Governor informed the gathering that 31% of the state budget expenditure had been earmarked to the education sector, a highpoint of the NNPP manifesto which the party intends to replicate nationwide when it wins the 2025 general election.
NNPP national chairman ……. commended party officials at the vrious levels for guiding the party aright in the course of navigating the country’s political space.
He reminded members that the task of membership drive is a collective one that must be pursued with vigour, adding that the party must leverage on its relative advantage over other opposition parties to call more shots in the scheme of nigeria’s political arena.
The party’s NEC meeting was observed by a team of officials from INEC and witnessed the reconstitution of some executive councils in some states of the federation via adoption of motions duly raised and seconded by NEC members.
The well organized and attended meeting had in attendance party members from the National and State Assemblies, as well as executive council members from Kano State.
