…Protesters Call Out BoyLoaf, Shoot at Sight for Alleged Falsehoods
A coalition of Niger Delta youths under the aegis of Amnesty Phase 1,2,3 Concerned Niger Delta Youths has strongly condemned what it describes as a coordinated smear campaign against High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, and High Chief Kestin Pondi of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.
The group accused certain individuals of orchestrating false allegations in an attempt to discredit these figures and regain control of illegal oil bunkering operations in the region.
In a recent video, Kestly Agama alleged that Dr. Dennis Otuaro misappropriated ₦58 billion and ignored summons from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The video also accused Tompolo of diverting amnesty funds and using security forces for extrajudicial killings. These claims led to protests in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, demanding Otuaro’s removal.
Additionally, the video called for U.S. President Donald Trump to suspend dealings with Nigeria until President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took action. The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Kele Kiari, was also implicated in allegedly funding illicit activities in the Niger Delta.
Youth Leaders Dismiss Allegations
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Saturday, Ex-agitator and Phase 3 leader, Emmanuel Satu, dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated. He accused ex-militant leaders Ben Ebikabowei Victor (BoyLoaf) and Bibopere Azube (General Shoot at Sight) of masterminding the smear campaign due to their dissatisfaction with the success of Tantita Security Services.
According to Satu, the recent protests within and outside Nigeria were the handiwork of individuals desperate to revive illegal oil bunkering operations.
“We want the international community to know that these protests, especially those in the U.S., were part of a malicious scheme by unpatriotic elements,” he stated.
The group asserted that Tompolo’s security outfit, Tantita Security Services, has significantly curbed oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the region, making it difficult for criminal elements to continue their illegal activities.
“Since Tantita took over pipeline surveillance, oil theft has drastically reduced, and their illicit business is no longer profitable,” they emphasized.
Tantita’s Success and Economic Growth
The youths highlighted that Nigeria’s crude oil production has surged from 1.2 million barrels per day to 1.8 million barrels per day since Tantita Security Services took over surveillance contracts. They argued that this success has made oil thieves desperate.
“Those who previously benefited from unchecked oil theft are frustrated because they have lost their illegal income streams,” the group noted.
The youth leaders also dismissed allegations of corruption, kidnapping, and mismanagement against Tompolo and Dr. Otuaro as “baseless, malicious, and driven by envy.”
“The international community should disregard these claims. They are mere fabrications of BoyLoaf, Shoot at Sight, and their accomplices,” they declared.
Call for Sanctions Against Accusers
The group further accused a former Amnesty Office staffer, Jude Gbaboyor, of leading an online smear campaign against Tompolo and Dr. Otuaro.
“Jude Gbaboyor was dismissed for corruption. After failing to secure reinstatement, he turned to social media to spread falsehoods on behalf of his sponsors,” they alleged.
As part of their demands, the youths called on the United States, the United Kingdom, and the United Nations to impose a visa ban on BoyLoaf, Shoot at Sight, and their associates.
“These individuals pose a threat to the peace and security of the Niger Delta. We urge the international community to impose sanctions on them,” they said.
Urging Continued Government Support
Finally, the youths urged the Federal Government to sustain its support for Tompolo and Dr. Otuaro, stressing that their efforts have restored stability and economic growth to the region.
“The Amnesty Programme is now functioning properly. Beneficiaries receive their stipends regularly, and transparency has been restored. We urge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to continue supporting these initiatives,” they concluded.
