The Zuma Deck of the National Association of Seadogs (NAS), has emphasized the urgent need for inclusivity, acceptance, and collective support for individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The Association made the call as it joined the global community in commemorating the 2025 World Autism Awareness Day.
A statement by Andy Ajudua, Chairman of the Autism Committee of Zuma Deck, emphasized the importance of sustained awareness and practical support for children with autism.
World Autism Awareness Day, marked annually on April 2, aims to promote understanding and reduce stigma around autism.
NAS Zuma Deck reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to building a society that embraces neurodiversity and uplifts individuals with special needs.
The statement explained that as part of its longstanding dedication to autism advocacy, the Zuma Deck has been actively supporting two autistic children for the past eight years, fully covering their education expenses.
The organization announced its intention to expand this initiative by adopting more children in the coming year, in a bid to ease the burden on families and provide a brighter future for affected children.
The statement reads in part, “The Zuma Deck of the National Association of Seadogs remains committed to promoting awareness, understanding, and acceptance of autism. We recognize the unique challenges faced by individuals with autism and their families, and we are dedicated to providing support and resources to help them surmount the challenges.
“Zuma Deck has adopted two Autistic children and have been taking care of their school fees for the past eight years. We will continue with this and hope to adopt more children in the coming year.
“As we mark this important day, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a more inclusive and compassionate society for all individuals, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. We will continue to work tirelessly to promote awareness, acceptance, and support for individuals with autism and their families.”
