Former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani has described the former governor of the state, Malam Nasir El-Rufai as “the patriach of bandits and godfather of insecurity in Nigeria.”
Sani, a prominent civil rights activist said the former governor lacked the moral rectitude to criticise President Tinubu’s Government even as he was part of insecurity in Nigeria which was obvious to everyone.
Reacting to the latest tirades against President Bola Tinubu’s administration by El-Rufai and the former Rivers State Rotimi Amaechi, in a statement issued in Abuja, he wondered what they have up their sleeves to achieve against the government by issuing toxic statements endlessly.
According to him, the duo served actively in Government that precipitated hunger and insecurity against the nation.
He said: “The government which El-Rufai and Amaechi served were the precipitators and enablers of hunger and insecurity.
“El-Rufai is the patriarch of banditry and the Godfather of insecurity in Northern Nigeria.”
Sani further lampooned El-Rufai, saying he was too toxic to work in Tinubu’s administration, hence he suffered exclusion, the basis for which he is launching verbal attacks against the current administration.
“El-Rufai’s attacks on Tinubu is an expression of anger over exclusion and failed sense of entitlement.
The ex-lawmaker and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC recalled how El-Rufai who governed Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023 brutally weaponised poverty by sacking thousands of civil servants and demolished houses of poor people including retirees, stressing the likes of El-Rufai and Amaechi dared to criticise what they are complicit.
“No government has weaponised and spread poverty in Nigeria than the Government of Elrufai’s.
“The accused Tinubu of weaponising poverty, the very people who served the previous government that left over 163 million Nigerians living below the poverty line.

“He sacked thousands of workers, demolished homes of poor people, taxed the most vulnerable. El-Rufai and his fellow travellers have no moral standing to talk about poverty and insecurity.
“El-Rufai’s Government was a pandemic of evil and bloodshed,” he concluded
