Erstwhile Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has officially assumed office as Chairman of the National Credit Guarantee Company (NCGC). The inauguration ceremony was held in Abuja and presided over by Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima.
According to his media aide, Honourable Bulus Iliya, who shared the update on his timeline monitored by The Nigerian Pilot Thursday, Dogara was warmly congratulated by close allies and stakeholders on his appointment, which is seen as a strategic step in strengthening Nigeria’s credit and financing architecture for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
“Congratulations on your inauguration as Chairman of the National Credit Guarantee Company, Your Excellency Rt. Hon. Dogara Yakubu,” Iliya wrote, celebrating the former Speaker’s new national assignment.
The NCGC is a key federal institution established to support SMEs by providing credit guarantees to banks and financial institutions, thereby easing access to funding for entrepreneurs across the country.
Dogara’s appointment is widely viewed as a move to inject experience, credibility, and policy insight into the agency, in line with the administration’s commitment to economic inclusion and enterprise development.
