The Labour Party, LP legislator representing Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo (Ohanivo) Federal Constituency, Kama Nkemkanma has commended Governor Francis Nwifuru for running his administration with a detribalized spirit.
Kama stated this yesterday at Girls Secondary School, Ishiagu, in the Ivo local government area of Ebonyi State, during his 2024 end-of-the-year Interdenominational thanksgiving and empowerment programme for his constituents.
He said the empowerment items to his constituents were designed to support them in their various endeavours, whether it be in local transportation, commerce, or personal development.
According to him, the empowerment items included tricycles (Keke Napep), motorcycles, grinding machines, sewing machines, hair dryers, make-up boxes, barber kits, and knapsacks (sprayers), among others.
“The selection of the beneficiaries of the empowerment items was consistent with their constituency representation in keeping with the detribalized governance approach of the state governor to ensure inclusivity, fairness, and proper spread, irrespective of political party, religion or other differences,” Kama explained.
The Labour Party lawmaker also disclosed that he was able to sponsor 11 bills and move 18 motions in the house, with other interventions rendered to his constituents while addressing their plights in his office.
Responding, Governor Nwifuru, who was a special guest at the event, described the LP lawmaker, Kama, as a beacon of hope for Ebonyi people, urging him to join the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC to jointly move the state forward.
The governor said that even though Kama is a first-timer in the National Assembly, he has performed creditably well in his office.
Nwifuru commended Kama for distributing “countless empowerment items” to his constituents during the festival period and described him as a great performer.
He said, “Kama is a prayer answered and a beacon of hope for Ebonyi State, especially the Ohanivo people.
“He is a great transformer and a humble leader who never minded his financial status even when he was working as a federal lawmaker. He is giving out countless empowerment items to his constituents today.
“People are asking me whether Kama is joining my party (APC) today, but I’m not after the party now. I’m here because I’m invited as the governor of the state, and that’s what is called governance. As you are sending the empowerment items to the wards, let them go to my party.
“And you know it’s obvious there’s nothing like the Labour Party in Ebonyi State again, so you should prepare to join APC, the moving train before it is too late.”
