As preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has charged its publicity secretaries to publicize the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration across the country.
To drive this effort, the party has mandated its Zonal and State Publicity Secretaries to actively communicate the accomplishments of the federal government to the public, particularly at the grassroots level.
This directive was issued on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, during a one-day capacity-building seminar organized for APC Zonal and State Publicity Secretaries in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, Onanuga emphasized that the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu-led government is not a mere campaign mantra but a comprehensive roadmap aimed at transforming the lives of Nigerians.
He noted that the administration’s policies have begun to restore investor confidence, attracting both local and foreign investments across various sectors of the economy.
“We must intensify efforts, especially at the grassroots, to inform our people of what this government is doing to improve their lives. The Renewed Hope Agenda is tangible and its results are becoming increasingly visible,” Onanuga stated.
He acknowledged the challenges inherited by the current administration, including what he described as a “dead economy,” but highlighted significant progress in agriculture, solid minerals, and other key sectors. Onanuga reiterated the administration’s commitment to revitalizing the economy and making life more meaningful for all Nigerians.
In his address, the Acting National Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori, encouraged the party’s spokespersons to promote the Renewed Hope Agenda with renewed vigor.
He urged them to highlight the efforts of President Tinubu in mitigating economic hardship and fast-tracking national development.
Also speaking, APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, commended the initiative of the seminar, noting that it came at an opportune moment.
He stressed the importance of equipping party spokesmen with accurate information to effectively communicate the administration’s progress to the citizenry.
“We need to focus our communication on the strides made in the economy and dispel any false narratives. Despite gloomy forecasts, the naira is stabilizing and the economy is on the path of recovery,” Bashiru said.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Felix Morka, urged Publicity Secretaries across the zones and states to sustain public education on government achievements and their impact on citizens.
The seminar, which came barely six days to the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, drew participation from key party stakeholders and spokespersons from across the country, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
