Residents of Kwara North senatorial district have commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the construction of an access road from Bode-Sadu – Kaiama to Kosubosu.
Residents of the Alagbon-Odetunde community, a suburb of Bode-Sadu in the Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State, made the commendation in separate interviews with journalists during a visit to the area.
The Mogaji Alagbon-Odetunde, Alh. Ahmadu Ayinde said the road had made life easier for them and opened up their community to economic growth.
“Before the construction of this road, we could hardly get to Bode-Sadu a town not far distance to us not to talkless of transporting our farm produce to market in large quantities, but now we are more than happy to have this well-constructed access road and we can now easily transport our goods to markets in either Bode-Sadu, Kaiama or Ilorin, the state capital.
“Cars do not often pass through our community before now, but after the government started the road, we now have more vehicular movements and our community is now bustling.
“We appreciate the government and our Governor for the intervention, we want people to come and invest in our community”, the mogaji said.
Also speaking, a trader identified herself as Mrs. Kudirat Abdulfatai, who stated that she had been a resident in the community for over seven years.
Kudirat said before the road construction, that linked the community, transportation to the market was N1000, but now it costs N500 to and from the market.
“Before now, we walked through pathways, rats, reptiles and other pests invaded our homes, but when the road construction reached our community, we became free from these pests, our rooms are neater and our environment is cleaner. More importantly, it now costs less than half of the money we used to spend transporting our goods from the market to our home.
“We really appreciate the government for remembering us, for allowing a major road to pass through our community”, she said.
Also another youth in the community Mr Sulaiman Odetunde, after expressing appreciation for the access road made a passionate appeal to the investors to come and invest in their community, especially in the area of tertiary education and industry saying they have an array of land.
“We want people to come and invest in our community, there is a good road now and we have vast land areas for investors.
“We also desire a higher institution in our community, we are a very accommodating people”.
