In a bid to foster inclusive youth development, Comrade Solomon Adodo, who doubles as Board Member, representing Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) and President, National Youth Council of Nigerian (NYCN), recently paid a working visit to the Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olwande.
The visit which was aimed at forging a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Youth Development in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as well as creating a roadmap for youth development in the FCT as per the mandate of NCDC, took place at the Abuja office of the Minister.
In his remarks, Comrade Adodo praised the Minister “as a beacon of innovation and creativity, whose leadership has significantly amplified youth participation in national transformation under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which has helped to tap the immense potentials of Nigerian youth in advancing good governance and personal growth.
“I am here, first of all, to tap into your reservoir of innovative ideas and to foster strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Youth Development and the NCDC. Of course, the critical role of youth in sustainable national development cannot be over-emphasized. Excluding them from national discourse will, therefore, jeopardize the nation and harm it’s future.
“As a youth representative on the NCDC Board, and Mr. President as an ardent supporter of youth empowerment initiatives, the need for synergy with your Ministry to deliver impactful development to grassroots communities is not just urgent but very crucial.
“In advancing the lofty ideas of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration towards youth development, we are committed to steering Nigerian youths away from needless street protest to meaningful policy engagements and from inactivity to productivity. This aligns seamlessly my patriotic vision of forging a partnership that transcends collaboration and reflects a shared destiny.
“Together with President Bola Tinubu, the most youth friendly President in the history of Nigeria, we shall work tirelessly in advancing efforts that herald a generation of young Nigerians poised not only to demand change but to design it, not merely to await leadership but to embody it, as a vehicle for propelling the nation toward greatness”.
In response, the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande commended Comrade Solomon Adodo’s sportsmanship, patriotism, and unwavering commitment, adding that, “the youth constituency, once viewed as dormant, is now emerging as a dynamic force for change and ready to claim its rightful place in Nigeria’s socio-political landscape.
“The Nigerian youth are no longer a lost generation but the embodiment of the hope our nation seeks and the living proof that Nigeria’s renewal is achievable especially with a pragmatic leader like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has consistently demonstrated his faith in Nigerian youth and their potentials.
“Let me conclude my remarks by appreciating Comrade Solomon Adodo whose transformative leadership in repositioning the NYCN as the authentic voice of Nigerian youth is now yielding fruits. His passion for driving change using the instrumentality of NCDC is already glaring. I, therefore, urge you to emain steadfast in building a united and formidable youth constituency and be rest assured that Mr. President and the Ministry of Youth Development will partner and support all you do”.
The visit culminated with Comrade Solomon Adodo presenting his NCDC Board appointment letter to the Honourable Minister, a symbolic gesture of respect and appreciation for the Minister’s steadfast support for the youth constituency.
