THE Commissioner of Police Kogi State Command, CP Miller Dantawaye has called on the Council of Ulamah, Kogi chapter to always pray for security agents as they go about enforcing the law and securing lives and property.
CP Dantawaye made the call when he received a delegation from Council of Ulama’u, Kogi State chapter on a courtesy call at the state command headquarters in Lokoja.
The Commissioner who emphasized the relevance of prayers in everyday life said Security Agents needed more as they engage in crime prevention and fighting. He added that he has always been personally guided by prayers in all his decisions, as he acknowledged the visit of the Council as a blessing.
Dantawaye assured the Council of Ulama’u that the Kogi Police Command values collaboration with religious and community leaders saying that security of the State was not the sole responsibility of the uniformed men alone but remains a collective effort of all.
He applauded the Council members for their role as religious leaders in conflict resolution and community engagement and urged them to sustain it to foster continued unity among all people, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
The CP further commended the Council for its activities including lecture series and charitable efforts which he said, were instrumental in shaping a peaceful society. He encouraged the Council to also educate the public on the importance of providing Security Agencies with accurate and timely information and assured the delegation of his unwavering commitment to justice and fairness.
Speaking earlier, Mallam Zakariya Zak, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Council commended CP Dantawaye’s unwavering commitment to improving the security of lives and property in the State.
Zak further highlighted the group’s commitment to promotion of peaceful coexistence, conflicts resolution and support for law enforcement efforts through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
He further expressed gratitude for the Command’s cooperation in addressing community disputes and acknowledged their role in ensuring stability adding that the Council had engaged in various activities within and outside the State just for the maintenance of peace and order.
The Ulama’u PRO added that the Council’s mission has always been to promote harmony, mediate in conflicts, and support those in need through charitable initiatives and appreciated the synergy between the Police and Council, which he said, had helped to resolve a lot of critical issues.
The Council members prayed for CP Dantawaye that under his leadership, peaceful coexistence would be further enhanced for him to leave behind a legacy of unity and security in the State.
