Chairman Abuja Municipal Area Council AMAC, Christopher Maikalangu, has taken a significant step towards prioritising the welfare of employees by paying the N70,000 minimum wage to council workers.
According to a statement by the senior special assistant on media and public affairs to the Amac chairman, Kingsley Madaki explained that this move demonstrates his commitment to the well-being of his employees and sets a positive precedent for other council chairmen in the FCT to emulate.
According to Chairman Maikalangu, “This decision is a testament to my commitment to good governance and my dedication to the welfare of my employees.”
He further explained that the payment of the minimum wage would boost employee morale and productivity, ultimately benefiting the community.
The Chairman also highlighted the positive impact of fair compensation on the community, stating that “when workers are fairly compensated, they are more productive and better equipped to provide quality services to the community.
