Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has been unanimously affirmed as the sole candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in the November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election.
A total of 3,167 delegates from the 326 wards, cutting across the 21 local government areas of the state, converged at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, on Saturday and affirmed the Governor as their sole candidate through voice vote.
Out of a total of 3,175 delegates who were accredited, 3172 votes were cast, with 4 invalid votes.
The State Chairman of APGA, Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye, said that the confirmation of Soludo was an expression of what they have seen over the years under the transformative leadership of the Governor.
The Chairman of the Primary Election Electoral Committee, Chief Uchenna Nwegbo noted that Governor Soludo’s adoption as the sole candidate of the party, as well as the entire process complies with the electoral act, 2022.
Accepting the nomination and confirmation, Governor Soludo described the mandate and support as unprecedented, soliciting for support to continue with the progressive movement in the state.
The affirmation was done under the watchful eyes of officials of the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, while the highlight was the issuance of the nomination certificate to the Governor by the Party Primary Election Electoral Committee at the event.
