Commander, Nigerian Army, lieutenant commander, Ibrahim Mohammed, has said that for more innovation to strive in Nasarawa State and beyond, students must take their academic pursuit with seriousness and purposefulness.
Lieutenant Commander Mohammed, who is the Commandant of the Command Science Secondary school, Lafia, Nasarawa State stated this during the break down of activities of the school to journalist in Lafia the state capital.
The Command Science Secondary School, which is the first of its kind in Nigeria, was established in 2016, in collaboration with Nigeria Army and the Nasarawa State government, aimed at improving the standard of education in the country, has graduated about three sets of students.
The school according to the helm man has enough science equipments with a functional laboratory, modern library, sports and health facilities to care for the students among others.
The army officer maintained that the school which is a science oriented college, participated in a research development and innovation competition in Kwara state and came 3rd, amongst the participants, “that is to tell you that the school can be pall with their contemporaries in other parts of the world.”
On civility, he said the school has good relationship with the host community and other staff of the institution who is civilians further admitted that not only children of army are in the school but civilian’s children are also admitted once you meet the criteria.
He called on all and sundry not to be deterred on activities and programs of the school, school fees affordable as the military school keeps standard and also give your children the boldness to gain admission in to the Nigeria Defence Academy, NDA.
