Nigeria’s Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has announced its collaboration with the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, ICRC, to accelerate infrastructure development.
This was revealed by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo during a meeting at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja on Monday with the ICRC.
Keyamo emphasized that Public Private Partnerships, PPP, are critical to Nigeria’s infrastructure progress and pledged to establish a task force to spearhead the collaboration.
He highlighted that upon assuming office, he encountered numerous legal challenges, which have since been addressed. The minister encouraged ICRC to strictly adhere to legal procedures as they pursue these PPP initiatives.
The minister expressed his gratitude to ICRC for the partnership and reiterated the ministry’s commitment to advancing President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
In his response, Dr. Jobson Ewalefoh, Director General of ICRC, praised Keyamo’s swift achievements in the aviation sector and stressed the importance of the partnership for national infrastructure development.
He stated that the aviation ministry plays a pivotal role in driving the nation’s economy and assured that administrative hurdles have been cleared to ensure seamless cooperation.
Ewalefoh noted the urgent need for PPPs to address the country’s infrastructure challenges, adding that improved aviation infrastructure would attract more foreign investments. He commended President Tinubu for his continued dedication to revitalizing the sector.
