Minister of Works, David Umahi, don talk say bandit wahala for some parts of di country no stop work wey dey go on for federal roads.
Umahi talk dis one on Saturday for Enugu when he go inspect Enugu–Onitsha Expressway and Eke Obinagu Flyover, plus oda projects for dat road side.
According to am, work no stop because Bola Tinubu give order to security agencies make dem protect contractors wey dey handle federal road projects well-well.
He say, “Di President tell National Security Adviser, service chiefs and oda authorities make dem give us enough security for project sites.
“No security problem dey for di different sites because most security agents dey inside bush and you no go see dem.
“So work dey go on steady steady according to di President instruction,” Umahi talk.
To show say progress dey, Umahi explain say dem dey pour concrete for many roads at night, especially for northern states wey heat dey too much.
He say, “Right now, temperature for northern part of di country pass 45 degrees Celsius and you no fit pour concrete under dat kain heat.
“Di fact say we dey pour concrete for night show say security tight for our sites, and anybody wey try any nonsense go regret am.”
Di minister talk say he happy with di speed of di work and beg South-East people make dem appreciate di President for di infrastructure projects wey he bring come di zone.
He say Eke Obinagu flyover don reach 99 percent completion, while some parts of Enugu–Onitsha road don almost finish.
He add say, “President go come commission all of dem for May.
“Na time for Igbo people to appreciate President Tinubu, and we go deliver over 80 percent votes for am from dis zone.
“Na person like me from South-East fit continue di kind big development wey President Tinubu don start for dis zone.”
Mrs Chioma Nweze, Senior Special Assistant to di President on Community Engagement (South-East), thank di President for di projects and say di region suppose show gratitude.
She say from Enugu–Onitsha highway to Enugu–Umuahia–Aba–Port Harcourt and Onitsha–Owerri roads, di President don create better chance for social and economic growth.
“Farmers fit now carry their farm produce go market easily and students fit move across states share ideas, plus oda benefits wey better roads dey bring,” she talk.
Di News Agency of Nigeria report say contractors and supervisors promise say dem go deliver di projects within di agreed time and dem praise Federal Government for di support.
