The House of Representatives has urged the Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police and all Security & Intelligence Agencies to carry out clearance operations at the Soda Forest, Bagudo Local .Government .Area, hills in Suru Local Government .Area and generally the entire Kebbi State to bring an end to banditry in the state.
Adopting a motion of urgent national in the banditry in Kebbi State moved by Hon. Bello Ka’oje the House also called on the Department of State Services (DSS) and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) to strengthen intelligence coordination and cross-border surveillance along the Nigeria–Benin Republic corridor especially within the Bagudo Local Government Area axis.
While commend the efforts of the Federal Government, Kebbi State Government, Political Leaders, Security Agencies, Local Vigilantes, Traditional Rulers and Community Leaders in the rescue of the 24 schoolgirls earlier abducted from the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School Maga, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Arer[a, the House urged the Federal Government to provide adequate compensation to the families of the slain officers of Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service and Nigeria Police Force.
It observed one minute silence in honour of the deceased officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Nigeria Customs Service and the Nigeria Police Force all killed during various attacks by Lakurawa bandit and mandated its Committees on Air Force, Army, Defence, Police Affairs, National Security & Intelligence, Interior, Customs and Legislative Compliance to ensure compliance with the above resolutions.
Leading debate on the general principles of the motion, its sponsor, Hon. Bello Ka’oje noted that Bagudo Local Government .Area of Kebbi State shares an external boundary with Benin Republic and hosts a Nigeria Immigration Service outpost at Bakin Ruwa, a Nigeria Customs Service outpost at Maje and a number of Nigeria Police Posts in various parts of the Local Government Area..
He further noted that in most recent times, Bagudo Local Government Area and Kebbi State as a whole has witnessed attacks by armed bandits in different parts of the state amongst other states of the federation.
The lawmaker informed the House that on Thursday 27th November, 2025, the Lakurawa bandits attacked a Nigeria Immigration Service outpost at Bakin Ruwa which led to the death of three personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service explaining that the said attack is similar to an earlier one on a Nigeria Customs Service outpost at Maje in the same Bagudo L.G.A on the 10th November, 2025 which left one Customs Officer dead.
After a robust debate on the general principles of the motion, majority of members at plenary unanimously adopted its prayers via voice vote.
