Jos Electricity Transmission Company, JED has disclosed that the current daily allocation for its franchise states of Bauchi, Benue, Plateau and Gombe, has been dropped to 90MW.
The Head, Corporate Communications of JED, Dr Friday Adakole Elijah, who disclosed this in a press release made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Tuesday, said the situation has necessitated the transmission company to embark on load shedding of its customers in all its areas of operations in an equitable manner pending improvement in supply from the national grid.
“You may have observed load shedding in the last couple of days. This was due to the low power supply allocation from the national grid because of the 330KV transmission lines limitations supplying power to our franchise area,” Dr Elijah explained.
He, however, urged the customers not to despair as the Company hopes to give them full supply as soon as TCN is able to complete the repair works on the remaining faulty 330kV Ugwuaji-Makurdi transmission line.
