D/Speaker advocates for diaspora support to boost Nigeria's economic reforms.

Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has solicited the full support of Nigerians, including the Diaspora on the various economic reforms being implemented by the present Administration
He equally urged the people to give their backing to the reserved seats for Women Bill currently before the national assembly.
Kalu made the appeals when he met with the 2025/2026 group of Nigerians at the Harvard Kennedy School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States of America over the weekend.
The Deputy Speaker emphasized the need by all to back the reforms, as they are aimed at driving economic growth, stability, and development in the country.
He noted that the President Bola Tinubu-initiated reforms are focused on taking Nigeria to attaining its full economic-cum social potentials within the shortest period
He described the President as “A leader that knows the direction he is headed towards taking Nigeria to her rightful position among the committee of nations and that’s the truth. I say this without sounding political and I will still say what I am saying even if I was not a member of the ruling party or in politics.
“You need to wear your unbiased lens to do your comparative analysis between Nigeria now and before without sentiments but with every sense of purpose, you will agree with me on this”, he said.
Speaking on the reserved seats bill, the Deputy Speaker highlighted that the bill was part of broader efforts to enhance inclusivity and gender representation in Nigeria’s development.
Kalu also noted that despite being outside the shores of Nigeria, Nigerians at Harvard and other parts of the world remain connected to their homeland and are committed to contributing to its betterment.
“What this bill seeks to do is to create a space for women. You are thinking home and it’s an advantage for Nigeria that those outside the shores of Nigeria have not forgotten Nigeria”, Kalu said.
