Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Sylvester Aigboboh as the Acting Deputy State Chairman and Mr. Pedro Esangbedo as the Acting Vice Chairman for Edo Central Senatorial District.
According to a press release issued by the party’s State Secretariat, the appointments take immediate effect.
The development follows the elevation of the former Deputy State Chairman, Chief Jaret Tenebe, to the position of State Chairman, and the defection of Chief Francis Inegbeniki, the former Vice Chairman for Edo Central, to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The statement explained that the appointments are in line with the party’s constitution and are aimed at ensuring smooth and effective administration within the party structure.
“In accordance with the provisions of the APC constitution and for the continued efficiency of the party’s operations, it became imperative to fill these positions with individuals of proven character and integrity,” the statement read.
Mr. Aigboboh and Mr. Esangbedo will serve in an acting capacity pending the conduct of the party’s next State Congress.
They are expected to work closely with the State Chairman, Emperor Jaret Tenebe, and other members of the party’s executive to provide strong leadership as preparations for the 2027 general elections begin.

Undeniable projects of Sen. Monday Okpebholo within six months in Edo

The achievements of His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, is now visible to everyone. The majority of those who aligned with the opposition at the outset of Okpebholo’s administration in Edo State are now throwing their weights behind the vision of the “Renewed Hope” of greater Edo State.
Edo State is presently enjoying the beauty of having a man who wants to serve the people. For the first time since 2016, Edo State is not lacking projects. It is hard to believe that, this is the same State Obaseki once described as “broke.”
In less than 6 months in office, there have been wonders of development in all aspects of governance.
Below are some of the visible and heart warming projects across the state:
Construction of flyovers at Ramat Park Benin City, Paid 25% upfront for a Second Flyover in Benin city, Revival of Edo Line Transport with Purchase of 100 buses and the park presently undergoing Massive turn around construction, Enactment of Cultism Prohibition Law with strict penalties, Procurement of 70 patrol vans and 1,000 motorcycles for security agencies in the state,Edo State Security Network Reactivation and Launched N1.8B Health Insurance Scheme for the Edo People.
Others are Converted State Cleaners into direct government employment, Established South- South VVF Treatment Centre, Massively increased Ambrose Ali University Monthly Subvention from N41m to N500m, Partnered with Market Union to drastically reduce the price of food items in Edo State, Initiated Interest-free Loan for over 5000 traders and farmers in Edo State.
Also to be counted are Settled Artefacts matter and gave the Oba of Benin the full right and privileges, Dissolved all Governing Council of State own Tertiary Schools and set up a new one that will reflect his Renewed Hope Agenda for the State, Disengaged Hospital Management to improve efficiency, Declared State of Emergency on Public Schools, Schools rehabilitation including but not limited to:
Ebo Primary School, Ore-Oghene Primary School, Evbareke Junior Secondary School, Use Junior Secondary School, Okhekhugbo Primary School, Eweka Primary School, Oroma Primary School, Uyiosa Primary School, New Era College, Ebomisi Secondary School, Illeh Primary School, Irrua Girls Grammar School, Udomi Primary School and Ugbubezi Primary School
Others are Enactment of the Edo State Electricity Law 2025 that led to the Establishment of Regulatory and Operational Bodies like: Edo State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ESERC), Edo State Electricity Transmission Company, Edo State Electrification Agency, Edo State Electricity Advisory Council, Established Back-to-Farm Initiative that has brought about, Mechanize Farming in Edo State, Land Allocation of 3000 hectares with 1200 hectares already under cultivation.
Construction of Major roads, Street and Erosions control across the State including but not limited to, Temboga–Ekiuwa–UNIBEN Road (7.2 km, Upper Mission Road Extension (Aduwawa Junction), Obadan Junction Benin–Auchi Expressway, Edo State, Upper Ekenwa, Road (near Military Cantonment), Old Sapele Road, Evbukhu Road, Ogheghe Road, Catholic Charismatic Way, Ugbiyoko Road, Onewa–Uwessan Road, Ujabhole–Udomi Road, Ibore–Atuagbo Road, Unuwazi–Ujabhole Road, Ohe–Uzea Road and Igueben–Ikekhen Road.
The record of the projects executed and some under construction by the administration of Senator Monday Okpebholo are too numerous to mention.
