Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Command, has commenced the 3rd batch of Basic Arms and Weapon Handling Training for 200 officers and men.
The eight (8) weeks training according to a statement signed by Monica Ojobi, Ag. FCT CDPRO, is sequel to the fast growing need to develop personnel of the Command in the necessary skills to handle weapons effectively in fighting criminality, especially, protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure in the FCT.
While flagging off the training at the Command Headquarters, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, the FCT Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, charged the trainees to take advantage of the training to bring out the best in themselves in combat readiness and weapon handling.
Odumosu reminded the personnel of the need to accomplish the Corps mandates through proactive efforts such as training and retraining that will help in sharpening their professional acumen needed to put criminals and vandals where they belong.
“Be reminded of our commitment to protect Critical Assets in the FCT, and we must not fail in doing so.
“This training is what you need to fight criminality and to defend yourself when attacked by criminals in your line of duty,” he charged.
He advised the trainees to be disciplined, committed and to be of good conduct throughout the duration of the training as the will be rewards for excellent conducts and good marksmanship during their passing out parade at the end of the training.
