Five notorious bandits responsible for various kidnappings in the North Central, North West and North East regions of the country have been arrested by men of the FCT Police Command.
The operation, reportedly led by the Commander of the Scorpion Squad started on the 20th of September and continued through the 28th of September 2025, leading to the recovery of 2,186 rounds of live 7.62 x 39mm ammunition, two AK-47 rifles ‘with obliterated serial numbers’ as well as five operational motorcycles used by the suspected bandits.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in charge of the FCT Command, SP Josephine Udeh, the Police Commissioner, Ajao S. Adewale, has reassured the residents of the FCT of “his continued efforts to rid the FCT and its environs of crime and criminality”, while also calling on them to continue to partner with the police by reporting suspicious activities through the command’s emergency lines.
According to the statement, “All suspects have confessed to the crimes and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations” adding that “efforts are ongoing to track and arrest their other gang members currently on the run.”
The names of the five suspects who were traced to Nasarawa where they were arrested are given as Abdullahi Garuba, A.K.A. Alhaji Ore (male, 40 years), Yusuf Inuwa, A.KA. Alhaji Dabunda (male, 59 years), David Kaika, A.KA. Baba (male, 29) Baba Imaji (female, 36 years) and Ibrahim Nasiru A. K A. Pepper, another male suspect whose age is not specified.
