As part of an effort to enhance the productivity of Staff of the Interior Ministry, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has commissioned a standard fully equipped clinic, three electric motorcycles, a standard gym with creche and a 500 KVA generator to ensure constant power supply to the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja.
The provision of these new facilities according to a press release issued by Ozoya Imohimi, Director, Press and Public Relations of the Ministry, was in line with the Pillar Six of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025, FCSSIP-25, focusing on improving the welfare and well-being of Civil Servants.
Also, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, while conducting the Minister round the projects, said the gym was named, “Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo Wellness Centre” in recognition of the Minister’s contributions, adding that the facility was set to enhance the fitness and productivity of Staff.
The Centre includes a creche, which was established to support nursing mothers in caring for their children while at work.
Also at the commissioning, the Staff Union Chairman, Comrade Ukpenatus Eteng Bassey, appreciated the Minister and Management for procuring a Toyota Coastal bus, for the Orozo route, which he said will ease transportation challenges for Staff living in that area.
“The commissioning of these facilities marks a significant milestone in the Ministry’s efforts to prioritize the welfare of its staff and improve their working conditions,” he said.
