Annie Okonkwo Foundation, in partnership with Hon. Uche Okonkwo, hosted a medical outreach in Katsina State in commemoration of the Sallah festival.
The foundation reached out to over 300 residents in Katsina, providing free medical services including health check-ups, cancer and cardiovascular screenings, and basic treatments.
Speaking at the event, the North west Coordinator Dr. Zara Abubakar emphasized the foundation’s mission to serve and uplift underserved populations.
She noted that their presence in Katsina was not only to celebrate with the people but to address critical healthcare needs in the spirit of the festive season. “We are here in Katsina to support the community with health checks and to celebrate the Sallah festivity. Our core value is to help eradicate disease, encourage education, and support the less privileged,” she stated.
Echoing her sentiments, the Foundation’s Program Director, Mrs. Success, described the outreach as a reflection of the foundation’s unwavering belief in the right of every individual to live a healthy, educated, and dignified life. “Our aim is to build a community, promote health, and inspire hope among the people. At Annie Okonkwo Foundation, we believe everyone deserves access to healthcare, education, and the opportunity for a better life,” she said.
She further assured the community that this initiative marks only the beginning of a long term relationship with Katsina. “We are committed to your health, your wellbeing, and your future. This gesture will not stop here, we are dedicated to a lasting impact. By standing together, we are building a stronger, healthier, and more empowered community,” she added.
