Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has presented the 2025 budget of N382, 567, 843,592.03 to the state House of Assembly for approval.
Gov. Sule said the total budget for 2025 was structured into N159.97 billion (41.82%) for recurrent expenditure and N222.60 billion (58.18%) for capital expenditure.
The Governor commended the Speaker and members for always giving attention to appropriation bills adding that the administrative sector will receive N80.14 billion, the economic sector: N139.84 billion, the law and justice sector: N10.61 billion and the social sector: N151.97 billion.
He said that the 2025 Budget aims to continue on the path of recovery, with a focus on improving education, expanding infrastructure, agriculture, health, security and technology sub-sectors.
“The allocations to the sub-sectors are hereby enumerated below: education, science and ICT N 78.16 billion, infrastructure N71.70 billion, governance, security and general administration N50. 75 billion, health, N36.20 billion, agriculture and water resources N36.07 billion, environment- N27.02 billion.
“Others are finance, investment and trade N26.11 billion, information and tourism N19.36 billion, law and justice N10.61 billion, legislation N10.03 billion, youth and sport development N9.77 billion, humanitarian and women empowerment N6.40 billion” the Governor explained.
Speaker of the House, Hon. Danladi Jatau, while receiving the budget tagged “Budget of Economic Growth and Stability” assured of speedy passage of the bill for the benefit of citizens.
He said records from the various House Standing Committees shows that the performance of the 2024 budget stands at 65 percent which is quite commendable.
It would be recalled that on November 13, 2024, the State Assembly passed into law, the Supplementary Bill of N156.6 billion for the year ending December 31, 2024 bringing the state government’s 2024 budget to N356.5 billion.
