Governor Sherrif Oborevwori of Delta State has called on all government agencies and other employers of corps members not to reject members but provide for them an environment to perform optimally.
Oborevwori made the call at the Closing Ceremony of the 2024 Batch “C” Stream 1 Orientation Course for Corps members deployed to Delta State at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state.
The governor who was represented at the ceremony by the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr Trakiriowei ThankGod Harry reminded all local government personnel, traditional rulers, community leaders and all security agencies to consciously make the security of corps members, a top priority.
“Endeavour to provide a peaceful and interactive atmosphere for these youths to fully integrate into your various communities to make them contribute their quota to the development of Delta State.
Oborevwori who also formally declared the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Orientation course closed encouraged Corps members to serve diligently with sincere commitment.
“Most of these communities have benefited from development projects and giant strides of your worthy predecessors in national service.
“Therefore, as you go into these communities, be worthy ambassadors of the scheme and be determined to imprint your names in gold in the heart of the people.
He assured that his administration would continue to reward excellent service among corps members and encourage any action or service capable of improving the lot of the people.
