The Coordinator of the Federal Government’s Green Money Project, Charles Olufemi Folayan has urged Nigerians to rally around President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing economic reformations said it’s essential for a prosperous nation.
Folayan, a former YPP House of Representatives candidate for the Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency made the appeal in Oro, Irepodun local government area of Kwara State yesterday during an Iftar programme held with some stakeholders youths in the communities.
Folayan, widely known as Asoju Odo acknowledged the concerns surrounding the recent surge in food prices, transportation costs, and materials due to some of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic policies, emphasized that the measures are crucial for the long-term sustainable development of the nation.
“President Tinubu is carrying out the necessary reforms, akin to a medical surgery, that will lead to Nigeria’s permanent recovery.
“Nigeria’s previous economic management could be likened to that of a sick patient who was only given pain-relief medications rather than undergoing the surgery required for a lasting solution.
“Now, under President Tinubu’s leadership, the country is undergoing the essential transformation for long-term healing.”
He urged the youth to endure the temporary hardships associated with these reforms, highlighting that the pain will ultimately result in lasting prosperity.
Drawing parallels with Tinubu’s early years as the Governor of Lagos, Folayan noted that “the bold decisions made at that time led to the significant growth and success Lagos is now enjoying. Nigeria would soon become the prosperous nation it aspires to be.”
Folayan emphasized that “the most effective solution to the ongoing food crisis and poverty is for the youth to prioritize agriculture more than ever before. With the Green Money Project designed to empower young farmers, there are no longer any excuses for not investing in agribusiness.”
He added that the Project is a presidential initiative designed to empower Nigerian youth through agricultural development.
“Its goal is to attract, train, and support young individuals by enhancing their knowledge of modern agricultural practices, mechanization, climate-smart farming, and digital technologies.”
