Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, OHCSF, has condemned the abduction of several Federal Civil Servants along the Kabba axis in Kogi State, describing the incident as deeply distressing.
The victims were reportedly on their way to Abuja to participate in the ongoing Computer-Based Test, CBT, promotion examinations organized by the Federal Civil Service Commission when they were kidnapped.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, expressed heartfelt concern and solidarity with the affected officers, their families, and colleagues across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, MDAs.
Walson-Jack said the Federal Civil Service remains united in prayer and optimism for the victims’ safe return, while expressing confidence in the ability of security agencies to ensure their prompt rescue. She stated, “We stand together as one Civil Service family, united in faith, hope, and solidarity, praying earnestly for the safe return of our colleagues. Their safety and well-being remain our utmost priority”.
The Head of Service also appealed to all civil servants and members of the public to remain calm and vigilant, reaffirming the Federal Civil Service’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, safety, and well-being of its workforce.
The statement, signed by Eno Olotu, FCAI, mnipr, Director of Information and Public Relations at the OHCSF, further assured that the Service would continue to support efforts aimed at securing the safe release of the abducted officers.
