The Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Hon Benjamin Kalu Thursday commended the Regional Agenda of President Bola Tinubu by backing up the six Regional Commissions with budgetary allocations to cater for development and enthrone peace.
Kalu stated this when he was presented with the Outstanding Peace Ambassador Award by the House Press Corps for his outstanding efforts and commitment to peace in the South-East zone through the passage into law the region’s Development Commission.
The Deputy Speaker said with this stroke of statesmanship, the President has empowered every region of the country to develop and ensure its security.
Rep Kalu noted that the president’s interest in the South East Initiative led to the creation of the SE Development Commission, a development that will ameliorate the feeling marginalization among South-easterners.
The Deputy Speaker thanked the House’s Press Corps for the award, adding that felt st home with it having been chairman committee on media and public affairs in the 9th Assembly.
