Jos Electricity Distribution Plc, JEDC, has appealed to its customers in Makurdi, Benue State capital, that the widespread power outage caused by rainstom will soon be restored.
JEDC, according to a statement signed by its Head of Corporate Services, Dr Friday Adakole Elijah, said that the rainstorm collapsed several electricity poles and tripped all feeders in the area.
“Jos Electricity Distribution Plc (JEDC) confirmed the incident and assured customers that its technical crew had been deployed to restore power.” Dr Elijah said.
He said the team is working hard to resolve the issue and restore the electricity supply.
He further stated, “The Disco appealed to customers not to despair, promising to restore power as soon as possible.”
Dr Elijah also called on the public and security agencies to help safeguard electricity installations to prevent vandalism and ensure smooth restoration efforts.
