Federal ministry of industry, trade and investment has confirmed receipt of an appeal addressed to the Minister, Jumoke Oduwo concerning allegations of alterations to corporate records, administrative actions, and related issues involving JonahCapital Nigeria Limited and Houses for Africa Nigeria Limited.
In a statement issued by the head, press,and public relations, Obilor- Duru Augustina and made available to journalists, the Ministry noted that the issues raised are already before courts of competent jurisdiction, including the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory and the Federal High Court, Abuja.
It acknowledged the existence of pending suits as well as interlocutory orders directing all parties to maintain the status quo pending the determination of the substantive matters.
The Ministry stressed that it holds the judiciary in high esteem and remains firmly committed to constitutionalism, the rule of law, and the doctrine of sub judice.
It emphasised that its acknowledgment of the appeal does not, in any way, seek to interfere with, pre-empt, or undermine ongoing judicial proceedings or the authority of the courts.
While reiterating respect for the judicial process, the Ministry said the appeal has been taken under advisement and is being reviewed strictly within the confines of its administrative oversight mandate. It clarified that any such review is being conducted without prejudice to the pending cases and in full compliance with existing court orders.
The Ministry further assured stakeholders that it would act with restraint, fairness, and institutional propriety, adding that no action would be taken that could compromise the integrity of the judicial process. It urged all relevant agencies and parties to continue to respect subsisting court orders and allow due process to take its course.
According to the statement, the Ministry remains committed to promoting investor confidence, upholding due process, and ensuring that Nigeria’s regulatory and institutional frameworks function transparently and in accordance with the law.
