The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted full accreditation for 18 due programmes as well as approval to mount eight (8) new ones for Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

Director, Public Relations and Protocol, also said that NBTE has granted Full Institutional Accreditation for the Polytechnic.
The Rector noted that the 100 per cent Quality Assurance success recorded for 27 programmes being run by the Polytechnic was a consolidation of the resounding accreditation success in 2022.
Prof. Ogbo Usman had stated during the 32nd Matriculation ceremony of the Polytechnic that the institution, in 2022 presented 30 programmes to NBTE for accreditation and secured full approval.
The recent accreditation exercise, according to him, was conducted in the Polytechnic by the National Board for Technical Education between 18th and 20th December, 2024.
The 18 programmes, 10 National Diploma (ND) and eight Higher National Diploma (HND) granted full accreditation status in the recent exercise are to commence from the 2024/2025 academic session.
The Rector further explained that the eight programmes that were granted approval for commencement after Resource Inspection Visitation include HND Civil Engineering Technology and HND Mechanical Engineering Technology (Manufacturing Option).
Others are HND Building Technology, HND Architectural Technology; HND Surveying and Geo-Informatics; ND Printing Technology; ND Fashion Design and Clothing Technology and ND Mass Communication.
Prof. Ogbo Usman noted that with the outcome, no programme in the Polytechnic has denied or interim accreditation status; adding that it was a reflection of the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and stability.
He explained that out of the 57 programmes being run by the institution, 19 were introduced under his administration, representing 33.3 percent of all programmes in the Polytechnic.
The Rector therefore, applauded the collective efforts of his Principal Officers, Management, Academic Board and members of staff.
He also commended the Cleaners, Drivers and Security Personnel, for their dedication and support before, during and after the Accreditation and Resource Inspection visitation.
