In a bid to ensure effective surveillance operations and enhanced efficiency as well as professionalism, the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, has organized a three (3) day intensive training for intelligence personnel for the Zuba Division of the Command.
The training according to a statement signed by DSC Monica Ojobi, Ag. FCT CDPRO, drew both Senior and Junior Intelligence Officers from Zuba Division to upscale their knowledge and skills in intelligence gathering, proactive security and intelligence report writing.
Declaring the three days intensive training open, Odumosu, reiterated that training and retraining of personnel was imperative for creating a skilled, efficient workforce that will support the Command’s goals for increased productivity.
Speaking through the Command’s Deputy Commandant of Corps, BP Hussaini, the Commandant maintained that, intelligence gathering was key to successful operations; having the knowledge of gathering credible information was vital for any intelligence officer that wants to succeed in his career, considering today’s security needs the world over.
He posited that intelligence gathering all over the world remains a cardinal focus for successful security of lives and properties of citizens as well as protection of territorial boundaries, the reason he said was responsible for the focus on upscaling the knowledge and skills of his personnel.
The FCT helmsman, who said the corps thrives in credible intelligence information, charged all participants to take the training seriously in order to develop themselves with the focus on actualizing the Corps’ mandate of protecting critical national assets and infrastructure among other responsibilities.
“If we must succeed in our mandate of protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, you must be on top of your game by being miles ahead of criminals and vandals,” Odumosu stated.
He lauded the efforts of the resource persons for exposing the participants to modern and advance level of intelligence gathering and security report writing which according to him will give them the needed boost for effective service delivery.
He commended the commitment and dedication of the Zuba Divisional Officer and charged him to sustain the drive.
