Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, has commissioned the newly constructed outpost, fully furnished with modern facilities, donated to the Command to enhance operations.
The outpost was donated to the Command, by the Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Leisure Court Limited, Builder Segun Abolaji, bringing to three, the number of Divisional Command and Security Outpost structures the NSCDC, FCT Command has commissioned under the leadership of Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, PhD.
Commissioning the outpost, situated at Leisure Court Estate, Lugbe, Abuja Odumosu, said the building was a significant stride towards enhancing security in the territory.
“The commissioning of this outpost is not just about celebrating the erection of a building; it symbolizes our resolve to create a safer environment for every citizen in the FCT regardless of location.
“This outpost is strategically positioned to respond swiftly to security challenges and to engage with communities effectively,” he revealed.
In a statement signed by DSC Monica Ojobi, Ag. FCT CDPRO, he said further that, the outpost will serve as a base for the Officers to monitor activities in the area, support neighborhood watch programmes and foster a spirit of cooperation between the NSCDC and the communities they are serving.
The FCT Commandant, was optimistic that they could create a formidable partnership with the community that will allow them detect and prevent crimes before they occur, adding that the Corps recognizes that community engagement is paramount in enhancing security.
“This building will not only enhance our operational capabilities but also serve as a symbol of the collaboration between dedicated individuals like yourself and our organization. Your contribution will enable us to better address safety and security challenges in the area,” the Commandant said.
Odumosu, expressed his profound appreciation to builder Segun Abolaji, PhD, the Chairman/CEO, Leisure Court Limited, for the donation which he noted will significantly impact on the Command’s ability to serve and protect community.
He implore all stakeholders and community members to join in the mission towards achieving a safer FCT by working hand-in-hand to build a secure environment where every citizens can thrive without fear.
The FCT helmsman reiterated the Corps’ commitment to serving the nation and upholding the ideals of the NSCDC, assuring that the outpost will stand as a beacon of security, hope, safety and community collaboration.
In his speech, the Chairman/CEO, Leisure Court Limited, Builder Segun Abolaji, said it was his pleasure to encourage and strengthen security in the area, since he could not carry riffle as a civilian, the best way to support security was to donate the facility to enhance security.
He expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Corps and assured that he will continue to support the Corps in any way possible.
