Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, has again presented Medals of Commendation for excellence to 53 of his personnel.
The presentation of medals to deserving personnel according to a press release signed by DSC Monica Ojobi Ag. FCTCDPRO, has become a tradition that the Commandant, has imbibed since taking over the leadership of FCT Command, to reward excellence, dedication, commitment and passion of his personnel towards assigned duties thereby boosting their morale significantly for better service delivery.
Addressing personnel during a brief ceremony at the Command Headquarters, Odumosu said the quarterly award was his way of spurring his personnel to their zenith.
“This award is in recognition of your dedication and contribution to the growth and progress of the Command which has had significant impact in our shared prosperity and accomplishment.
“You have shown zest through your approach to assigned responsibilities, this is worthy of recognition, and to me such display of loyalty cannot go unrecognized.
“The idea is not only to inspire, encourage and motivate the rest of you but to drive you to giving your best and achieve the highest standard of excellence on the job,” he said.
He maintained that the nominations was transparent and unbiasedly done by himself and the heads of departments and units.
He charged Officers to be up and doing because they do not know who is watching or appraising them.
He added, “This award should not only be seen as recognition of past achievements and successes but a challenge to continue to strive for excellence, you have the responsibility to inspire and motivate others to follow your footsteps by consistently proving yourself.”
The FCT Command helmsman, posited that the NSCDC thrives in humility and excellence in service delivery assuring that he will do everything within his power as the FCT Commandant to continue to encourage excellence through the award .
It is pertinent to note that this award has brought the number of personnel that have been presented Medals, letters of commendation and cash rewards since Commandant Odumosu’s assumption in office to three hundred.
