Deputy Chief of Staff to Edo State Governor, Hon. Pius Alile has asserted that the new government of Edo State led by the distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, is a very practical one with so much evidence in the short period of its existence so far.
He made this statement while receiving a delegation of members of the organising committee of the Independent Television and Radio Founder’s Day Celebration, who were in his office to solicit his support for the annual event which comes up by the end of April.
Hon. Pius Alile emphasized the bold strides the Sen. Monday Okpebholo administration has made in road construction, schools reconstruction and employment of teachers, agricultural revival, security and the raising of the Ambrose Alli University subvention from N45m to N500m.
The Edo State Deputy Chief of Staff said that unlike the previous administration which made songs of their hollow programmes, the Sen. Monday Okpebholo administration is one of less talk; more work. He said that the government was irrevocably committed to providing a better life for Edo people.
Meanwhile, Hon. Pius Alile eulogized the founder and chairman of the Independent Television and Radio and the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, for his inimitable contribution to the development of Edo State and society in general, through his philanthropy and industry. He commended the Independent Television and Radio for their excellent service, which ranks them high amongst broadcast stations the world over.
Earlier on, while presenting the purpose of their visit, the ITV/Radio spokesperson on the occasion, Mr. Thomas Sadoh, said that they came to solicit the support of Hon. Pius Alile for the forthcoming ITV/Radio Founders Day Celebration. He said it was also an opportunity to formally congratulate him on his appointment as the Deputy Chief of Staff to Edo State Governor as well as felicitate with him in advance of his birthday celebration which comes up in the middle of May.
Meanwhile, Mr. Thomas Sadoh, on behalf of the ITV/Radio delegation acknowledged the remarkable contribution of Hon. Pius Alile in the area of philanthropy and community development over the years, saying that his projects are all over the place for everyone to see.
Highlights the occasion was Hon. Alile’s generous commitment towards the sponsorship of the ITV/Radio Founders Day Celebration, and the presentation of a congratulatory card from the ITV/Radio delegation to the Deputy Chief of Staff.
