The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum, has asked Stakeholders to prioritize unity, and uphold the interest of the party above every consideration.
Damagum spoke when he led other members of the National Working Committee (NWC) to the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, October 16, 2025, over matters concerning the forthcoming November 15-16 PDP Convention.
It would be recalled that the PDP National Convention, slated for November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State, is currently being challenged by some party officials allegedly planning to sabotage the party’s effort ahead of the Ibadan PDP National Convention.
In a statement signed by Nuhu Shehu Jos, SA to the Chairman on Media/Communications, the PDP National Chairman urged all party members and stakeholders not to be discouraged by the current situation, expressing confidence that the PDP has the institutional strength and internal mechanisms to overcome the challenge.
He reaffirmed that preparations for the convention are in full gear in both Abuja and Ibadan, calling on all stakeholders to remain steadfast, united, and focused on ensuring the event’s success.
Ambassador Damagum further encouraged party members to always look at the brighter side of every situation and to continue working collectively for the progress and stability of the PDP.
