To mark Governor Douye Diri’s five years in office, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other governors are set to commission projects in Bayelsa
The Commissioner for Information, Orientation, and Strategy, Hon. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, in a press briefing announced the lineup of activities for the anniversary of the “Prosperity Government,” led by Gov. Douye Diri, commencing on Monday, February 10, with a free medical outreach at Ikarama Community.
According to her: “we are here to brief the state and the world on the activities we have been lined up for the five years anniversary of the Prosperity Government, led by Gov. Douye Diri.
“Our programme for the 5th anniversary will commence on Monday 10, with a free medical outreach at Ikarama Community, under Yenagoa Local Government, under Constituency 3.
“In all we have 17 projects and three ground breaking, for the five years anniversary of the governor.
“Other projects are Okaka road opposite Prosco, Dialysis Centre, General Out Patients Hospital, Zipline drone services, Onuebum/Otuoke road, Stadium ground breaking.
“Empowerment of 3000 youths, new Yenagoa City, commissioning of Legislative Quarters, NLC and TUC House, Opolo road, Phase 1, ground breaking of nine story building state Secretariat.
“Others are Sagbama Ekeromor road, Agge Sea Port and road, ICT village, Commissioners quarters, amongst others are to be commissioned,” she explained.
The Commissioner urged Bayelsa people to follow up with the event to note what the Prosperity Administration of governor Diri, is doing for the people.
The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Moses Teibowei, highlighted the Prosco road as a high-profile project and the best in Yenagoa, with assurances of completing all roads within two years with good quality and standards.
He affirmed the governor’s significant achievements in infrastructural development and other sectors.
In related news, President Tinubu is also set to visit Enugu on Saturday, January 4, 2025, to commission transformative projects, including 30 Enugu Smart Green Schools, 60 Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, and 90 urban roads
The state’s newly completed Command and Control Centre, equipped with 150 patrol vehicles fitted with AI-powered surveillance cameras, will also be commissioned
