The Publish What You Pay Nigeria, PWYP and the National Stakeholders Working Group, NSWG, on the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, NEITI, has paid a courtesy call and condolence visit to the Director General of the Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office, NMCO, Engr Simon Nkom, following the passing of the NMCO’s former Director General, Engr. Amate.
During the visit, the PWYP and NSWG delegations expressed their heartfelt condolences to the DG and the entire NMCO family, praying for the repose of the departed soul.
According to a statement signed by Patrick Chika Osuji, Head, Press, NMCO, the visit underscored the strong working relationship and mutual respect between the organizations and the NMCO.
The Director, Monitoring and Coordination Department, NMCO, Engr. Mustapher, who represented the Director General, Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom , appreciated the gesture, noting the importance of collaboration and solidarity in advancing the extractive industries sector.
The Head of the group delegation, Dr. Erisa Dauda reiterated their commitment to working with the NMCO to promote transparency, accountability, and sustainable development in the mining sector as a template towards that was presented for an onward input for final completion.
Others present at the occasion were management staff of NMCO and delegations from NEITI, NSWG and PWYP.
