Katsina State Government has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with J Williamz Limited, promoters of the Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS), aimed at attracting diaspora funding for the state’s social and economic development.
The agreement, signed at the Government House in Katsina, forms part of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s broader commitment to drive sustainable development through innovative partnerships.
The MoU seeks to channel diaspora investment into critical areas such as education, healthcare, and the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The initiative is expected to unlock funding for key interventions that will impact lives at the grassroots and strengthen the delivery of social services across the state.
Key officials present at the signing ceremony included Dr. Wale Fasanya, Katsina State Government’s Lead Consultant on MSMEs and former Director General of SMEDAN; Dr. Ibrahim Musa Gani, Director of Enterprise Development and Promotion at KASEDA; and Dr. Babangida Ruma, Technical Assistant to the Governor on Enterprise Development. The partnership builds on the state’s participation in the 12th Nigerian Diaspora MSMEs & Job Creation Investment Summit held in London in March 2025.
Prince Bimbo Roberts Folayan, Founder of NDDIS, described the MoU as a significant step in connecting diaspora resources with impactful development projects in Katsina. He stressed the importance of the Nigerian diaspora in facilitating investments back home, noting that NDDIS has spent over a decade linking diaspora investors with opportunities in Nigeria.
Governor Radda’s administration views the deal as a vital part of its agenda to create jobs, strengthen the economy, and uplift living standards. With the support of the diaspora community, Katsina State is poised to scale up its development drive and deepen its engagement with global partners for the benefit of its citizens.
