Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has expressed profound sadness over the demise of Mr. Pascal Dozie, the esteemed founder of the defunct Diamond Bank, Chairman of Pan-Atlantic University, and former Chairman of MTN, Nigeria.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Leninus Nwabughiogu, Kalu described Dozie as one of the foremost Nigerian bankers, entrepreneurs and businessmen.
Born on April 9, 1939, Dozie passed on at the age of 86.
Kalu noted Dozie’s contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s banking and telecommunications sectors, saying they were commendable.
He lauded Dozie’s remarkable achievements and commitment to excellence, saying they have inspired many in Nigeria’s corporate and business community.
Extending his heartfelt condolences to Dozie’s family, friends, and colleagues, Kalu who acknowledged that significant void has been created by his passing however said that his legacy as a notable entrepreneur and influential leader will endure for a long time to come.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
