The whole electorate of our state will without fail, vote enmass for the able; performing and dynamic President, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2027 presidential election.
The Rivers State Chairman, All Progressives’ Congress APC, Chief Tony Okocha made the declaration yesterday, in Port Harcourt, when he officially opened the Rivers State Local Government Area LGA, Chairmanship and Councillorship election campaigns, due for 30th August, 2025.
Chief Okocha reminded the APC leadership and followers present, that some time ago, there was something wrong in the arrangements and conduct of the election, the reason the party refused to participate in the election.
“We did not only refuse participation, but warned them, it would not work, and it never did. Today, we are happy, elated and excited, to stand before you, to tell you that the current processes are right, and we are here too, to support the processes, the reason for our participation.
Our candidates have been screened, cleared and certified fit and and qualified. Go and campaign, go and become fishers of men, resist every temptation to violence. Our party is not that of violence.
I wish to congratulate the Chairmen and their deputies in advance, for victories. I do also congratulate the Councillorship candidates, for l know they will win the elections”, he wished them.
We took time to choose seasoned candidates, and also as an organized party, hence there is no violence here. We came out with those who will deliver to you the dividends of democracy. We aren’t going to teste the waters, but we are going to contest the elections and win the 23 LGAs and 319 Council wards in our state”, Chief Okocha boasted.
Alluding to the Federal Capital Territory FCT minister and immediate past governor of the state Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the APC Chairman, affirmed the ministere had fused the progressive members of both the APC and People’s Democratic Party PDP, under the umbrella of the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda 2025’.
Also, in his speech, the former Senator representing Rivers South East in the National
Assemblyman Magnus Ngei Abe, standing in for the Vice National Chairman of the party Chief Victor Giadom and himself, expressed his support for the party.
Senator Abe said the party is with them, in truth and spirit, and had contributed substantially to the occasion, but was indisposed.
According to his message, “the APC in Rivers is united, strong and ready to deliver the dividends of democracy to all strata of the state”.
