… A celebration of love, dignity

Yesterday, April 26, 2025, marked a joyous occasion as Ifiatazibola T. Agadaga, daughter of Distinguished Senator (Chief) and Mrs. Benson Sunday Agadaga, MON, of Bayelsa State, and Ali Fahd Christian, son of the late Ali R. H. of Kano State, exchanged vows in a grand wedding ceremony.
The event was a testament to the couple’s esteemed position in society, with dignitaries from various spheres of life in attendance.
The wedding, held at the King of Glory Chapel, Government House, Creek Haven, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, was graced by prominent figures, including Nigeria’s former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who served as the Chairman of the Occasion.
Dr. Jonathan commended the dignitaries present, noting that their presence underscored the significance of the occasion. He urged the couple to be mindful of their words, saying, “Mind what you say to your spouses, and consider if such words would be acceptable if said to you.”
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who was unavoidably absent, was represented by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, who conveyed the Senate President’s congratulations to the couple.
The guest list was a veritable Who’s Who of Nigerian politics and society. Some notable attendees included Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Peter Pereotubo Akpe (PhD); Senator Friday Konbowei Benson, representing Bayelsa Central Senatorial District; Senator Ibrahim Lamido, representing Sokoto East Senatorial District; and the First Lady of Bayelsa State, Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Ebibomo Diri.
Others in attendance included Hon. Rodney Ambaiowei, member representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives; Hon. Chief Mitema Obordor, member representing Ogbia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives; Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC); and Dr. Doodei Week, Director of Procurement at NDDC.
The wedding ceremony was a vibrant celebration of love, family, and friendship. Guests wished the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness, joy, and prosperity. Ifiatazibola and Ali Fahd Christian’s union promises to be a lasting bond, built on mutual love and respect.
In his brief remark, Governor Douye Diri congratulated the Agadaga family on giving out their daughter, Ifiatazibola, in marriage. He also commended the groom’s family for accepting a beautiful Ijaw bride into their family. The Governor prayed that God would bless the couple with fruitfulness, peace, and marital bliss.
The reception, held at Pee’s Hub Event Place, Alamieyeseigha Road, Opolo, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, was a testament to the couple’s esteemed position in society. The event was attended by dignitaries, politicians, traditional rulers, and other prominent figures.

The atmosphere was filled with joy, love, and celebration as guests congratulated the newlyweds.
