In a momentous celebration of distinguished individuals in their Profession, University French Teachers’ Association of Nigeria (UFTAN) at the weekend conferred an Honorary Fellowship upon Senator Prof Nora Ladi Daduut and other distinguished Professors.
Daduut a Professor of French was Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial district in the 9th National Assembly.
Our correspondent reports that this esteemed recognition was presented after the 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of UFTAN which took place in Jos the Plateau state Capital.
National President of UFTAN Prof Mufutau Tijani who spoke at the occasion said the award was in recognition of her enormous contribution to the development and growth of the organization and French studies in Nigeria.
He also said Senator Daduut and others who bagged the fellowship have distinguished themselves in the Profession.
Prof Tijanni said their recommendation was based on the assessment facilitated by the President and Executive of UFTAN after a vigorous evaluation process.
“Senator Nora Daduut’s remarkable journey in the teaching profession spans over four decades, her unparalleled contributions to the teaching profession as well as public sector is top notch”, he said.
Senator Daduut who spoke to newsmen after bagging the fellowship thanked UFTAN for what she described as a pleasant surprise.
Daduut who is currently the Pro Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure said ” I was just doing my Job as a Teacher not knowing that somebody somewhere was taking recognition of my support “.
While thanking the body for finding her worthy for the Fellowship, she expressed her deep appreciation to them.
“My prayer is that UFTAN will wax stronger and stronger in all ramifications”, she added.
Others who bagged the Followership include Prof Doris Obieje, Prof Austin Moye, Prof Joseph Objnaju, Prof M. Iwuchukwu among others who have likewise demonstrated unwavering dedication to excellence in the French teaching profession.
