The Senator representing Delta North in the National Assembly, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko has called for integration, cohesion, unity and decisive acceptance of president Bola Tinubu administration working assiduously to return the misfortune of the Nigeria nation.
Senator Ned gave the admonition when he hosted the Managing Director of the Benin River Basin Development Authority (BORBDA) Mr. Femi Adekanbi who was accompanied by other members of the Authority’s leadership.
The lawmaker in a statement by his media consultant, Michael Ogar and issued to Journalists, said the meeting focused on acceleration of regional development through sustainable water resource management, agricultural initiatives, and infrastructural projects within areas serviced by BORBDA, which include Delta North, Edo, Ondo, and Ekiti States.
According to the statement, Senator Nwoko dumped his appealed on two critical dam projects located at Ogwashi-Uku and the Idumuje-Ugboko Dam in Delta State
“The two dams, when completed, will have a transformative impact on the region stating that the Ogwashi-Uku Dam will provide vital water resources to over 60 communities in the senatorial district, boosting agriculture, irrigation, and water supply”, the statement added.
“Similarly, the Idumuje-Ugboko Dam is expected to play a significant role in supporting irrigation, improving access to clean water, and enhancing the region’s agricultural potential, thereby driving socio-economic growth”.
Senator Nwoko commended the Benin-Owena Development Authority under the leadership of Mr. Adekanbi for the ongoing efforts and stressed the need for timely completion of these projects. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that both dams are adequately funded and executed to meet the needs of the people.
Speaking during the meeting, the Managing Director of the Benin River Basin Development Authority (BORBDA), Mr Femi Adekanbi expressed gratitude for Senator Nwoko’s unwavering dedication to the development of Delta North.
While updating the senator on the progress of both dams and other ongoing projects, Adekanbi assured the Lawmaker of the Authority’s readiness to complete the dams’ projects.
The statement added that both parties reaffirmed their commitment to collaborate in delivering impactful projects that will benefit Delta State and other areas within the Benin-Owena River Basin.
It would be recalled that the engagement underscores his proactive approach to fostering partnerships that drive transformative growth for his constituents and the entire region.
