Uba Sani’s Reform Gives Major Boost to Nuhu Bamalli Poly

Fresh facts have emrged on how Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, has become one of the clearest testaments to Governor Uba Sani’s transformative governance in Kaduna State. Once plagued by dilapidated facilities and limited academic offerings, the institution is now experiencing a revival that its management and students have hailed as historic.

The Rector, Engr. Dr. Muhammad Kabir Abdullahi, described the governor’s intervention as “a game-changer” that has repositioned the polytechnic for growth. He noted that Uba Sani approved the renovation of all rundown classrooms and hostels across campuses, creating a conducive environment for both learning and student accommodation.

Beyond infrastructure, the governor’s administration also funded the re-accreditation of more than 40 programmes while introducing 21 new ones — a major leap that has expanded opportunities for thousands of young Nigerians seeking quality technical and professional education.

Dr. Abdullahi further commended the role of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) in complementing the state government’s efforts, particularly through intervention projects that have upgraded facilities and enhanced teaching resources.

While 4,596 new students were formally admitted into the polytechnic this session, the Rector emphasized that their experience will be markedly different from those of past cohorts — thanks to the governor’s vision and investment.

Several students who spoke at the matriculation underscored this shift. Maryam Sani Adam said the improvements had “changed the face of the school” and inspired renewed dedication to studies, while Andrew Mikel applauded the management for securing the resources that guaranteed re-accreditation and programme expansion.

With these sweeping reforms, stakeholders agree that Uba Sani has not only restored the polytechnic’s glory but also positioned it as a model for how purposeful leadership can rescue and elevate institutions of learning.
