The APC Grassroots Governance Group (APC G3) on Sunday praised two recent health sector interventions by President Bola Tinubu, highlighting them as a testament to his commitment to the well-being of ordinary Nigerians.
In a statement released by its National Coordinator, Amechi Chuks Oyema, the group emphasized that these initiatives are particularly significant as they come at a time when many Nigerians are struggling financially to access adequate healthcare.
The APC G3 expressed its appreciation, saying, “We are glad to have a President who feels the pains of the downtrodden. The newly-launched National Health Fellows Programme (NHFP) and the subsidy on kidney dialysis for Nigerians in 11 hospitals, which reduces the cost from N50,000 to N12,000, are the right steps for any government that truly cares for its citizens.”
The group pointed out that these two major announcements within just one week show that President Tinubu is in touch with the needs of Nigerians at the grassroots level.
“As a grassroots-oriented group, APC G3 welcomes these interventions. We commend the President and his team for this gesture,” the statement read.
The APC G3 expressed confidence that the Tinubu administration is on the path to transforming the nation’s health sector, reducing the trend of medical tourism, and improving healthcare access across the country.
“We urge Nigerians to remain patient and continue to support the Tinubu administration in its bold efforts to turn around our country,” the group concluded.
The kidney dialysis subsidy is being implemented across all six geopolitical zones in federal medical institutions, further showcasing the government’s commitment to improving healthcare for citizens.
