…sustain onslaught on Yagba-West

GUNMEN suspected to be bandits stormed a family residence in Isanlu and abducted mother, two children while the husband escaped with bullet wounds from two gunshots and demanded a N100 million ransom.
The attack and abduction, according to a member of Kogi State Vigilante Agency happened in Isanlu, headquarters of Yagba East Local Government of Kogi state in the early hours of Friday.
According to the Vigilante, husband of the abducted woman and children, Tope Goddy at Bareke-Egbe in Yagba West was attacked by unknown gunmen in the family house at about 2 am, Friday morning.
Mr Goddy was said to have in an attempt to escape abduction, shot twice by the gunmen but still managed to escape, drawing the ire of the gunmen who abducted his wife and two children.
While Goddy was rushed to a hospital in Egbe where medical personnel battled to save his life, the kidnappers have placed a demand of N100m ransom for the release of his wife and two children.
A member of the Kogi state Vigilante Management Agency who pleaded anonymity said, “One of us received calls from the kidnappers this morning. They used one private number to call us and they asked for N100 million before they will release the victims.”
The security source hinted that the health condition of Mr Goddy in the hospital was very critical and might be referred to Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH), Lokoja.
From all indications, the bandits have sustained their invasion and onslaught on Okun land especially, Yagba-West, where they have been striking in different locations in recent months.
